National Geographic - Best Feature 2007

“And the winner is...” With these famous words the Swedish photographer Magnus Elander and the Nordic National Geographic Magazine were awarded the Academy Award of the National Geographic. In the prestigious category “Best foreign produced feature” the story “Front row seat to Nordic wildlife” written and depicted by Magnus Elander, won first prize. It was published in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and in Finland in National Geographic issue 9/2006. It will also appear in other European editions of the magazine.

“An award from National Geographic is the best seal of approval one can receive. This also means that my story gets international attention”, says Magnus. “To get a cover story in this magazine is very prestigious, and furthermore to receive this award gives me a good excuse to drink very expensive champagne”, says Magnus with a smile.

The winning feature story is the second Magnus Elander has done for National Geographic.
